Why is OnSiteDetention (OSD) required ?

Most urban developments are associated with expansion of impermeable surface, resulting in increase of site runoff and discharge rate. OSD is introduced to control post-developed site discharge pre-developed level, reducing burden on existing Council's drainage system and alleviating flooding problems for downstream properties.

What software we use for modelling OSD system?

DRAINS is a widely used software package for hydrological and hydraulic modelling of urban developments . It has capacity to compute the catchment runoff, calculate hydraulic grade line (HGL) along a pipe network as well as optimize OSD storage.
